BRONZE NGUNI
I look for very specific faces as not all Nguni's have a handsome head. But this guy does. I also liked the crop to get a part of his body in the picture to feel his weight as a young bull. The shape of his body allows for big sweeps of paint, broad flicks and confident syringe work. I paint these Nguni's flat on the ground so there is no dripping. Once dry the splats have a quirky feel as they defy gravity. You get the drops of paint with no drips. This creates engagement and surprise. I l also particularly like the one colour plus a spot gold, bronze or copper, sometimes a combnation of two or all 3 colours work. It's nice to mix it up. And it depends on your taste and wall colours (should you request a commission.)
